PATH (Preserving, Archiving & Teaching Hiphop) will host its 4th Annual PATH Hip Hop Summer Academy at Miami Light Project from July 8, 2013 - August 2, 2013. Whether you are into DJing (Music), Emceeing (Rapping), BBoying/Bgirling (Hip Hop dance) or Writing (Street Art/ Urban Art), PATH is the place to be!
Hiphoppas (youth) aged 13-18 will learn, study and practice Hip Hop culture with Miami Hip Hop pioneers, professionals and celebrity guests. In addition, they will learn about leadership, community service and entrepreneurship. Lunch served daily. Seating is limited. Registration is open at www.pathtohiphop.org.
PATH engages youth in Hip Hop culture, community service, entrepreneurship, teamwork, leadership and creativity. We teach the history, philosophy and creative elements of Hip Hop, while challenging the negative stereotypes and destructive behaviors often associated with Hip Hop culture. PATH builds self-esteem and confidence while teaching skills that are useful in school, the streets and the future.
PATH Hip Hop Summer Academy is produced and presented in partnership with Miami Light Project and receives support and funding from the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners, The Children's Trust and the Kennedy Foundation.
