Global Cuba Fest (GCF) is a yearly series of performances and residency activities presented by FUNDarte, Miami Light Project, and The Miami Dade County Auditorium.   The series characterizes the organization’s cultural mission by presenting a variety of artists from across the Cuban Diaspora, and raising local and global awareness of the diversity and scope of their work produced both on and off the island. After 10 years, GCF is becoming multidisciplinary project. Building on our history of successfully presenting extraordinary artists from the island and the Cuban Diaspora, the upcoming GLOBAL CUBA FEST 10th Anniversary promises to expand this truly stellar series by presenting works that celebrate the hybrid outgrowths of Cuban creative expression as it exists in Cuba and around the world. The focal point of Global Cuba Fest is to present works that maintain a solid Cuban identity, even while responding to a multitude of global influences by artists living on and off the island.

FUNDarte has won a 2-year Knights Arts Challenge award for the project From El Barrio to the Mainstage, an initiative to commission and present four Miami-based musical artists to new audiences. FUNDarte is proud to present Carlos Puig as a recipient of one of our Knight Arts Challenge commissions.
